Buellton Senior Center

Forty percent of seniors say they are having trouble keeping socially connected and 1 in 4 seniors over 65 reported experiencing anxiety or depression during the pandemic. - Judith Dale, from "Buellton Senior Center Meals on Wheels: A lifeline for seniors"

The Buellton Senior Center is the largest meal provider in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Each weekday, volunteers deliver 372 meals to the homes of seniors in the Buellton and Los Alamos areas. Two cold or frozen meals are provided on Fridays to get them through the weekend. That's over 1,800 fresh meals per week.

The farmer’s market is open 24/7 for anyone in need of food to come to pick up fresh produce. Our grocery program has 1,500 users of all ages.

More than 80% of the Buellton Senior Center's Meals on Wheels recipients are on scholarship. While food costs and need for food have gone up, the center has not raised the cost of meals nor turned anyone away.

But we offer so much more than nutrition programs. Buellton Senior Center focuses on serving the whole person, meeting the basic needs through free Farmers Markets, home meal delivery, and the medical loan closet. We also meet the social needs of our seniors by offering monthly outings for its members including the Senior Dinner and Lunch Buddies.

Founded to promote the common good and general welfare of the members of the Santa Ynez Valley by providing nutritional, recreational, and transportation resources.
